Monthly Seminar

How SOX 404 Has Changed the Business World from a Security Perspective

As a result of section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley   Act of 2002, all public companies are required to submit an annual assessment of the effectiveness of internal control. In addition, each corporation’s independent auditors are required to audit and report on management’s internal control reports; just as they are required to audit the company’s financial statement.

This seminar will familiarize participants with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002--specifically, sections 302 and 404. The relevance of this legislation will be discussed from the organizational information security practictioner's point of view. The presentation will include real-world examples of how the Act has profoundly changed the business world from a security perspective.
