• We are currently preparing our registration page for the upcoming 2005 CISA Review Course - Part II.  Please stay tuned.

• December 2005 CISA and CISM Exams - The December 2005 CISA and CISM exams are scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 10 in San Juan, PR.  Details can be found at www.isaca.org/certification. Registration for the December exams will open on July 1, and will close on September 30, 2005. 

• Recent Events - On Friday, June 10, 2005, our president, Mr. Miguel Colon, met with the Director of the Government Ethics Office and with representatives of the Institute of Internal Auditors to discuss the proposed law of Internal Audit Departments in government agencies and municipalities.  Mr. Colon presented the views of the association, which included the need for IT auditors and certification of those auditors through the CISA Certification process.

• Welcome! Our new secretary. Ms. Denitza Mendez replaces Ms. Zulma Rodriguez, who had to resign for health reasons.  We wish both Denitza and Zulma much success and health!  Welcome aboard, Denitza. 

• Spring/Summer /Fall 2005 (Proposed PR Law on government Internal Audit Departments) - Your Board of Directors will be working with other audit organizations in Puerto Rico in drafting a law that will demand that all government agencies and municipalities implement and staff an Internal Audit department.  Our president (Miguel Colon), Vice President (Ana Marrero), and Treasurer (John R. Robles) met on Tuesday, May 23, 2005, to review a draft of the law and make comments dealing with the role of Information Technology auditors and auditing in the new Internal Audit departments.  Miguel will then meet with the other audit organizations and present Isaca Puerto Rico's comments.  Review the documents which have been presented by Isaca PR.  We ask for comments from our members on this proposed draft.  Tell us what you think and how Isaca PR can be a benefit in this new endeavor of the Puerto Rican government.  Some of the documents presented as part of Isaca PR's contribution to the Internal Audit PR Law are as follows:

• Our President's Trip to Las Vegas, Nevada

  In the coming days, we will be publishing our presidents report of his trip to Las Vegas, Nevada where he represented us at the Isaca International Leadership Conference.  He will be presenting new ideas discussed at the conference and which will help us in the organization of our PR chapter. •  CISA and CISM exams -  The Board of Directors of the Isaca Puerto Rico chapter wishes success and passing grades to all the persons who have registered and will take the CISA and CISM exams this year; especially to the 34 persons in our 2005 CISA Review Course and the 7 persons in our first ever 2005 CISM Review Course.  Worldwide, more than 20,000 candidates have registered for the June 2005 exam.  These growing registration numbers demonstrate the vast demand and huge interest in the achievement of each credential.
